Transposition

The Transposition painting series is the result of a collaborative process between artists, Ed Charbonneau and Jeremy Szopinski. The basis of the series combines abstract forms and geometric fields of color and tone in striking and harmonious juxtapositions. The paintings are sized at a human-scale of 6-7 feet in height, which amplifies their physical presence when seen in person. The abstract forms are created through an acrylic transfer process that produces an object-like quality to otherwise textural blends of colors and neutral tones. These forms are cut and altered from their original state and arranged on canvas in relation to each painting’s geometry, thus giving the series its title, Transposition.
